Ingredients
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1/2 pound ground Italian sausage
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 large egg
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
– 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
– 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
3. Take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and form a ball. Press a cube of mozzarella cheese into the center, sealing the meat mixture around it. Repeat with the remaining mixture and cheese.
4. Place the stuffed meatballs in the prepared baking dish. Pour marinara sauce evenly over them.
5. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
6. Return to the oven and bake an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the meatballs are cooked through.
7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
