Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 small onion, diced
– 2 garlic cloves, minced
– 2 cups mashed potatoes
– 1 cup beef broth (non-alcoholic)
– 2 tbsp tomato paste
– 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/4 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
– 2 tbsp butter
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Chopped chives for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Simmer until thickened, then add peas and carrots. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Spread beef mixture in a baking dish. Top evenly with mashed potatoes.
4. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the potatoes and bake for 20 minutes until bubbly.
5. Add crumbled bacon and bake for 5 more minutes. Garnish with chives before serving.
